The Strafford County Delegation and State Senators are seeking candidates to serve on the Pease Development Authority (PDA) Board as the Strafford County Representative for the June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2029 term. The PDA Board deals with numerous issues, including, but not limited to: land and real estate management, development of Pease, attracting quality companies, providing jobs, taxation concerns, and housing and education for children of employees working at the businesses located at Pease, including issues regarding the Port Authority, which oversees the Port of Portsmouth, and Hampton and Rye Harbors.
The Strafford County Representative serves as a point person for Strafford County businesses and communities, as liaison to the County Commissioners and Delegation, and reports on an as-needed basis to the Delegation’s Executive Committee. The need for a continuation of the cooperation between Pease and the cities and towns of Strafford County is an issue of priority for the Strafford County representative.
Applicants must be Strafford County residents and cannot currently hold an elected office. The position requires a significant time commitment without remuneration.
